•  Industry skill standards are identified by industry and NSSB that communicate the level of proficiency needed to be successful in a profession.

•  Industry skill certification is available through some certifying organizations and NSSB after program completion by authorized schools and colleges.

•  National and State academic standards form the foundation for general education courses in high school and college.

•  Minnesota Department of Education Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards and curriculum frameworks assist schools in assuring rigor and aligning CTE curriculum with SCANS skill and industry standards. They can be found at the Minnesota Department of Education website.

•  SCANS skills or employability skills are required for success in the workplace and include problem solving, decision making, and ethics.
