The Office of the Chancellor is committed to serving students who are pursuing careers that are nontraditional to their gender and to provide assistance to Perkins colleges and secondary schools that will ensure the retention and success of these students.

As defined by the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998, "Nontraditional' training and employment", refers to any occupation or field of work in which a specific gender is underrepresented (less than 25%).
